These paintings are about interaction.
When I was young we moved around alot. Sometimes just different neighborhoods and sometimes other cities, but they all fell within the confines of Ohio. After I graduated from high school I continued on with that tradition and have moved every 4 to 5 years. I have had to adapt to making new friends, finding jobs and apartments, etc. fairly quickly and found myself being thrown into a variety of different situations. This series of work is based on adapting to the situation at hand.
What I did with these paintings is I pulled out one page from each letter of the alphabet from this children's dictionary I have. Each character was developed from the situation that was already illustrated on the page. My goal was to create a situation where my character interacted with the people that were already there.
