Air Traffic: Control, The Rocket Gallery, Tucson, AZ
Installation/Collaboration with Tomiko Jones
I was given the opportunity to put on an exhibition right before I got back to Tucson after almost a year of being away. After sending out a search for a place to house sit, David Aguirre was gracious enough to offer me The Rocket Gallery as a place to live and work. Tomiko Jones and I had been talking about putting on a joint exhibition together and so when I was afforded this opportunity I asked her if she was in. She was, and for two solid weeks we worked on this show which ended up being a one-night-only event.
To sum up the exhibition- Tomiko and I had been talking about the amount of noise in the sky's around Tucson. Everything from police helicopters, military aircraft, commercial airliners, birds, insects etc. What we wanted to do was re-create this experience.
